Consumer Awareness: Electricity Disconnection
STEP 2: If not resolved he/she can move to Electricity Ombudsman.
STEP 3: If the consumer is still not satisfied or if the distribution company doesn’t implement the verdict given by the Ombudsman, the consumer can move to High Court and Supreme Court.
Alternative Remedy: STEP 1: The consumer may approach the consumer forum under COPRA for deficiency of service. The selection of the appropriate consumer forum that is, district, state or national shall be based on the pecuniary and territorial jurisdiction as contained under COPRA.
STEP 2: The consumer may go in appeal to the state commission against the order of the district forum within the period of 30 days from the date of the order.
STEP 3: The consumer may go in appeal to the national commission against the order of the state commission within the period of 30 days from the date of the order.
STEP 4: The consumer may go in appeal to the Supreme Court against the order of the national commission within the period of 30 days from the date of the order. more
