consumer dilemma
In June 2014 I had purchased a Voltas window AC 1.5 Ton DY model from Vijay Sales, Janak Puri, New Delhi. When I saw that in display, I found its front air grill that is used to direct the air flow up- down was not moving up or down and facing only front, I asked the salesman about the same he told me that being on display it may have got jammed but i will get a fresh piece in which that will not be a problem. On the very first day of purchase i found the same problem with my AC, hence I called up the customer care and registered my complaint. Within 2-3 days an executive of the company(Voltas) visited me, I was shocked to know from him that in this particular model the grill do not move up or down, I was also told that by him that I made a wrong choice as due to this in built problem that company had launched a new model DL in which the grill is made stronger, wide and movable. Since then neither the company nor the seller have taken cognizance of my problem, I sent e-mails to both of them but they care to respond. The grill is so fragile that if I try to move it up or down the whole of it comes out of the grooves and to remake it I have to spent a lot of time on it.
The grill throws cold air directly on the face and it was very problematic, if ever tried to direct the air up or down either it did not move and if moved every time whole of it fall out of grooves. The quality of the grill is very poor, it is very surprising how can a company of high reputation could sell such a product with cheap quality material and without a very basic function? I was fooled both by the seller as well as the company.
Now what all can I do?
Shall I approach the consumer court?
Will it be of any help after 6 months of purchase?
Kindly suggest me the appropriate remedy? more
