Consumer Oriented Healthcare

I am 100% support of a circle on healthcare. Health Governance is a total failure in India both on part of central and state govt. This includes
1) Fake Medicines and Implants
2) Big difference between cost and price of medicines
3) Medical college licenses
4) Donations in private medical colleges
5) Passing out in medical colleges.
6) Appointment of Govt Doctors
7) Admission to good Govt hospitals
8) Doctors commissions
9) Path lab ethics
10) Profiteering by pvt hospitals
and I can list 10 more but I will leave for others.

Can we please do something to get attention of health ministry and resolve these issues atleast whatever central govt can do. We keep referring to big schemes. Common person needs trusted doctor and low prices of medicines and test. That much govt should and must ensure. more

Leave about treatments. Disease burden could be greatly reduced through preventive measures. But Governments declare budget and health care personnel feel happy to place order for medicines!!! ignoring the public health. more
Healthcare is caring health with routine exercise/yoga and diet with seasonal befits besides prevention of disease. Arrest of adulteration and chemical treatment is the prime duty of Governments while the second is control of medicinal prices. more
If voting priorities are rationalized , everything will be set right in India. The root cause of all is politics in India. First link Adhar to Voters card. more
Yes, let their be a Health Circle, but the implementation chapter and costing of medicines should be strict. more
It is a vicious circle. Medical education, in private medical colleges, costs between Rs 1 Cr - Rs.15 Cr. Cost of books, stationeries, hostel expenditure, hostel.food, clothing, transport etc.. takes it almost to Rs.2.0 Cr . If the loan is to be repaid in 10 years, an amount of Rs. 2 lakhs p.m. (approx) need set aside from monthly income. How many doctors, (equipped with only M.B.B.S. degree only) can earn min. Rs. 2.5 lakhs p.m. to repay such loan as also to provide for his own subsistence , not to speak of his family? That there will be a tremendous shortage of doctors, and available Govt. medical colleges wound not be able to produce the required no. of doctors - were known as early as the last 9os'. Our leaders (whether in the treasury benches or in opposition) had some other priorities. I have not heard any MLA/MP walking out of the house, rushing to the well, etc. etc. since he/she was not allowed to speak on looming shortage of doctors. I need be corrected - if, written incorrectly or having distorted facts. more
Healthcare is out of reach of even for lower middle class population. Besides the reasons mentioned hereinabove, Hospitals have become a big corporate profit centre and an industry making not only profit out of it but exploiting the patients' and their relatives' weaknesses by threatening them keeping aside all the ethics/principles that we Indians have in us. The only way, as I see, is Government itself taking over healthcare in its own hands and improving the working in Government Hospitals. Till 30 years back, Government Hospitals (may not be all) were running well providing good treatment. Entry of private players in healthcare has spoiled everything, like in education sector. more
