CONTINUATION OF LOCK DOWN MUST : CONSIDER TEMPORARY RAILSERVICES TOWARDS SPECIFIC DESTINATIONS :

FOR THE BENEFIT OF MGGRANT WORKERS WITH STRICT REGULATIONS :
This class of people who have come for their livelihood leaving behind their homes in the villages are in a state of constant Fear ,Insecurity and now without earnings due to loss of work . Though the Governments the State or the Centre have no stakes , as they are Contract workers . Their free movement within the Union of India has been well utilized by the Contractors .

Their Insecurity was expressed in 2 stages :

Within days of first shutdown in March , we saw the plight of jobless Migrant Workers wanting to head home from Delhi, Chandigarh , Navi Mumbai, Lucknow. Some Bus services were arranged , but without any clue about the numbers resulting in horde of people with women and children jostling for a place . There the social distancing went for a six several times , waiting , jostling and getting herded .

Then came the extension of the shutdown now . After going through 21 days ordeal of getting Ration, Food and other facilities . This time in Mumbai and Surat particularly after the sudden spike in the Infected cases in Maharashtra and Gujarat would have caused fear and anxiety . After 3 weeks they are fed up of waiting in long Q’s and doled food. THE INFANTS AND CHILDREN WERE DEPRIVED OF THEIR ESSENTIAL FOOD . The Hunger & Need would have compelled them to stand for long times and wait with out realizing the “ SOCIAL DISTANCING “ . From the Pictures we did see that the authorities were either helpless or Oblivious to the “ SOCIAL DISTANCING “ . We had seen many without facial Masks also. Some of the Stores and Restaurants had foreseen the extension and packed the Migrant Workers during March itself.

SO RAILWAYS CAN OPERATE SPECIAL TRAINS FOR THIS CLASS OF WORKERS ALSO AS THE RAILWAYS IS OPERATING TO MOVE ESSENTIALS AND ARMED PERSONNEL . BUT ALL OF THEM SHOULD BE PROVIDED FAIRLY COMFORTABLE TRAVEL ACCOMMODATION WITH DISTANCE REGULATIONS AND FOOD. TO RESTRICT THEIR ROAD TRAVEL TO THE MINIMAL RAILWAYS SHOULD DROP THEM CLOSEST TO THEIR DESTINATIONS .

THEY COULD BE QUARANTINTINED IN THEIR HOME STATE ON ARRIVAL AS ALL STATES IN INDIA ARE COMPETANT TO HANDLE THE SITUATION .

Now , Some places like Mumbai and Delhi there has been relaxation for the Migrant workers to work with some restrictions and facilities in big Construction Projects. That is welcome , hope other states will also be in a position to follow suite . more

More or less we are posted with the situation and the unbearable hardships and agony brought in by the lethal virus to people's lives, particularly those completely dependent on their daily earnings. The condition has aggravated further because of the deadliness and fast spreading nature of the virus. In the meantime the number of infected patients in the country has already crossed the 25 thousands mark. Looking to the population density in every nooks & corners and with a very limited medical facilities available with us, the government has no choice but to initiate most stringent measures to contain the spread spree of the disease in a country of 1.35 billion people. The government is also left with no choice but to continue with such steps which are considered helpful in containing the disease but most unpopular and unproductive. However, we appreciate the concerns and agony expressed about the hardships and suffering caused to crores of our daily workers breathren and their families because of the lock down for more than a month. The steps taken by the governments (central & states) so far to metegate the hardships of these people are totally inadequate and they deserve more sympathetic consideration. Its true that our governments(central & states) function with limited financial capacity. As such, they could have motivated our corporate houses to come forward in the rescue of this class of our people in a bigger way so that the flow of their daily earnings continue even during the lock down period. Meanwhile, there had been a rumer that the recent gathering of Delhi and Mumbai in the name of returning home were politically designed and motivated showing utter disregard towards the proclamation of the lock down and the danger involved in such mass gathering during this period. more
Well thought out. In any case NHAI activities has started on 70 % of the Projects. Others will also follow....provided that some Political Parties stop playing Politics. See, what's happening in West Bengal! Firstly Loot and Secondly suppressing data on COVID -19 by showing death due to heart attacks instead of COVID -19 at Whose Cost. Immediately, the Govt Must Be Suspended ! WHO CARES more
India still lacks Nation First Policy because of Divide & Rule Policy of Democratically Elected Govts. Majority if more than Fifty Percent whereas we are ruled by those who have mere 30 % of votes. There must be a way out where the elected representative Must have clear, more than 50 % votes. This is where second preference votes comes into picture. If one remembers during the turbulent days in Punjab, Congress ruled the State with mere 10 % of votes. This is India's Democracy------PONDER--- more
