Continued GST on price by pantaloon
Please see attached. Pantaloon in Noida charged gst on discounted price. Like to know if legal metrology dept plans to take any action against these brands and jabong myntra lifestyle shoppers stop or we just have to deal with this. more

Even if we have to expect Legal Metrology Department to take action against such retailers, a basic complaint would have to be rised. Raising a complaint does not cost anything. Please raise a complaint to the Aditya Birla seeking refund and mark a copy of the complaint to Controller of Legal Metrology UP. If you require email id, please let me know. more

Yesterday, the 14th August 2017, I purchased some three items from a Salt Lake, Kolkata merchant. He gave a manual bill and stamped GST numbers on it. I objected, but he did not have a solution. He has yet to initiate computerized billing. He charged me the way he used to charge before 01 July 2017. So for me, even after about one and a half month after the GST was rolled out and was made mandatory, the purchase was no different. Many merchants in Kolkata have yet to initiate proper GST billing procedure. You are lucky. You got a proper bill. GST is to be charged on the MRP or the discounted price, is the real question. It will take a few more months for both merchants and customers to mature to the GST. more

gst is charge on final price mrp will include all taxes , if there is a discount allowed the gst is paid on the discount price there is no way that retailers can get away with it as they have to file returns , even for a month tax returns are filed , the firm gets a notice from authorities, fully agree that rules should be simplified more
