Control on MRP and margin

I think since more than a decade manufacturers are looting the people. In most of the product MRP written is too high with scope of margin more than 200 % in some case.

Especially in case of Toys, Packed Oil (Ground nut, cotton seed etc), garments, food etc. The list will be too long, because there is no control of government on corporates to control cost of the item and MRP. I know there is cost audit compulsary for companies and they do it, but even though this is fact that the margin is more than 100 %. I hope our new government can look in to this matter. more

You are right sunil. Some vendor behaves like he is the only vendor and we can not buy it elsewhere. They insist change if we want to buy, otherwise they will not ready to sell in some cases. How can we get so many change for all vendors? more
yes.. i agree with this.. .. some control has to be there... more
In India consumers are king only on paper in practical they don't have respect of the beggar ..all the products whether its vegetables or groceries there are no fixed or maximum price..there are no controls..different vendor charges different prices, even if you buy gold it varies from one shop to another..they fool customers in the name of making charges.there are no controls and maximum rate for gold..`this is possible because there are no stronger laws and execution of existing laws..its very simple interest of both vendors and customers should be considered . I believe BJP should allow FDI in retail because this will help farmers directly and will reduce the role of middle men and consumers will get fair price and better quality..now they pay high prices but lacks quality. more
Mr. Tarit, I agree but for that billing must be compulsary for all the sellers or service providers. more
The method to control prices is actually quite simple. Let the State and Central governments charge a Sales Tax based on the prices noted on sales packages. Then if the price is shown high, then the traders will have to pay taxes based on that price. Even if the item is now not being taxed, let a tax be imposed on it so that prices will be controlled. more
