Yes on cooliee charges no control on that. For example in Secunderabad or in visakhapatnam station if you have 3 or 4 luggages they are demanding for 1500 to 2000 rupees. If you are ok you have to pay otherwise you have to carry yourself. To whom you will make complaint. more
There should be bold display of Rates of Coolie on signboards at visible places in the stations, if Railways is really concerned about the fellow passengers pocket. Similarly, enforcement should also be alert and strict to the principles and laws. But in my case I have never seen such sincerity in Railways. Even, when I visited north India, I have experienced rude behaviors of Station Managers and other senior staffs, who do not bothered about passengers difficulties & problems. During the time of Railways Minister, Sri Suresh Prabhu, I have experienced, he was very much keen and concerned about passengers comfort and safety, even a mere twit or call to emergencies nos. solved problems or difficulties of fellow passengers. He was of high morals. But now, it is all drama and farce. Few days back, from a running train departing from Howrah station, Vanity bag and other costly belongings were snatched away by miscreants in the 3AC coach from a teen aged girl. Complaint had been lodged by the girls with different authorities related to Railways, but I heard nothing has been achieved and there were consolation calls made by such authorities. Ministry of Railways should be re-organized and counsel the Babus and concerned authorities to be alert to passengers calls. more
Rates should be displayed outside the station not on platform as in New Delhi more
Why do not display such boards on every stations more
Same in almost all stations more
