Coronavirus ramping up in other countries

I was just going through this report from the circles and one question thats most important is screening and tracking of passengers coming from asian countries

Korea has had 264 cases in last few days. If by mistake this thing enters India, it will be very very hard to control it so best to let it not enter. more

It should not end up with one time screening of the passengers arriving at all arrival point but should be followed up so that the person does not catch up with virus after a brief period. Follow up is most important. more
Iran has become another country afflicted by Coronavirus. Also Italy and South Korea. Its really an alarming situation. Every international traveler should be checked on arrival, prior to immigration. A dynamic list of countries visited in past 15 days (incubation period) should be maintained and such travelers should not be permitted entry. Also Indians should be dissuaded from travelling to such countries. We need to act IMMEDIATELY already we have lost time and treated this lightly. more
This contagious virus is indeed a very dangerous one and every country is taking steps to see that they do not spread in to their countries. Since the information was given out only late, many carrying the virus travelled out of china. Such cases have been reported and action is being taken. there is no need to be alarmed to create an alarm. more
Our inspection system requires drastic changes in order to safe guard our own lives more
Prevention is always better than cure. Hence, it is very important to scan every passanger arriving to India, to scan their body temperature and evaluate for flu like symptoms. Any passenger from SE Asian countries like China, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia and Phillipines should be checked in detail and if any symptoms found must be quarantined for minimum 15 days. Still, this virus has the NATURAL capacity and capability to enter our borders through infection borne foods including meat, fish and dairy products . Hence, all necessary steps must be put in place in EACH and EVERY HOSPITAL especially GOVT HOSPITAL to have an ISOLATION ROOM with MINIMUM 5 -10 Beds in all areas across our country . Such preparations will go a long way in further improving the healthcare system of our nation. Let me also thank the GOVT OF KERALA for establishing INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS AND SYSTEMS IN HEALTHCARE throughout every district in this State. In 2018 at Kozhikode, there was a outbreak of NIPAH VIRUS epidemic from infected bats . This is a far more dangerous epidemic than COVID-19 since its Mortality Rate is over 80 % . There was about 15 deaths, but the outbreak was controlled. Two infected NIPAH patients were treated back to health. In 2019, there was just ONE Case, which was also controlled and treated. And who said COVID -19 has NOT come to India ??? THREE INFECTED PATIENTS who arrived in INDIA from WUHAN before 22 Jan 2020, were identified, isolated and treated at THRISSUR, KANGHANGAD and ALLAPUZHA GOVT HOSPITALS in their ISOLATION WARD/ ROOMS. Today, KERALA is both NIPAH and COVID -19 free . Hence, uplifting our healthcare system and practices to INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS is the need of the hour ! I would add the BLAME GAMES in healthcare will NOT lead us anywhere. Also, spending FINANCIAL resources by conducting POOJAS, YAGNAS and RITUAL will have no effect, since over 20 Million Indians ( including present day Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh ) lost their lives due to SPANISH FLU of SEPTEMBER 1918 in less than 6 months with a Mortality Rate of about 6 % . Do you know MAHATMA GANDHI was infected and sick with Spanish Flu in 1918, for about 2 weeks, but recovered from this pandemiic ??? more
