corruptio in maintenance charges for group housing
Corruption in housing society is really becoming a concern.
Majority of the working class are too much occupied with the office which includes long working hours and travelling long distance come home late and at the end of the day attend house hold issues and children studies , they cannot spare time to look into society finance and maintenance affairs.
At the same time there are people in the society who have lot of spare time hence take initiative and take up the maintenance work as a duty towards society .
This spirit is very short lived and once they notice money into it a feeling that they are the only people working for the society for free takes over. They begin with weekend parties in hotel with society funds and gradually start corruption in a big way, money making becomes a right for them.
We have to blame ourselves as we cannot spare some time to social activity at the same time must have deterrent law to control corruption, as strong financial audit by co operative housing society board. more

Some care must be taken. Make all payments to the society through cheques and the receipts are taken. Please do spend some time in attending to the meetings called in for various affairs. It is seen that members do nt have interest in attending to the meetings. I feel little bit devotion to your own affairs would discourage the office bearers for unfair practices. more

The housing societies should find out a person among themselves, who is honest and having integrity. If no one is found - who can come to our rescue. more

Charity begins at home - corruption starts at the housing societies. Blatant violation of all laid down rules, unlawful expenditures, etc. are orders of most of the societies (whether housing, business and even banks). Pity is that majority of the members understand the problem. but prefers to remain passive to avoid the burden of shouldering responsibilities and 'to maintain good relations'. more

I agree. Society system is a nuisance and wastage of money. In name of security normal life of residents is restricted and misbehaved with. lacs of rupees are wasted and embezzled every year.This must end.In fact in the act no such provisions are mandatory but voluntary.Even balance sheets are not provided and auditor is stooge of president or secretary. It is corruption of small small groups in housing society who take seats by rotation. more
