Corruption in Corporates - Need Everyone's Inputs

We are initiating a drive to discuss corporate corruption in AAP circle with the objective of some concrete actions and plan. Since most members of this circle are not there in that circle, I am also posting here.

Indian corporates and several MNCs also have various types of corruption. As I had said in a previous note, this is the best time to clean up corporate corruption when everyone in the Govt is scared of taking bribes.

Can I please ask every member who has worked or interacted with corporates in India to share how bribery happens in corporates of India. (You are welcome to share names of companies. If you are not comfortable doing that for whatever reason, share the process atleast.

Since everyone in this circle has the courage to stand up against corruption, I hope I will get lots of inputs. more

Right, Chandresh. The abolition of contract labour act is self defeating as were all those labour laws to support the labour which finally ended with strikes and then the industry went about modernizing and the jobs got cut. The labour is on the road. All laws have to ensure that exploitation is not done and people are not made slaves ( our laws have kept the whole public as slaves even today after more than six decades of independence, since they are using the same slave oriented laws and administration system to run the country. more
Yes, Rameshji, you are right that there should be the 'will' to do and that will is lacking. Job responsibiities are defined, law is defined, consititution is defined but those who are given the responsibility to enforce, ensure and implement shelve the responsibility of performing what they are appointed to and once appointed get more concerned to snatch away. I forget the author but some one said, "if everyone performs the job one is assigned and appointed to, for which one gets paid salary & perks, this World would have been a wonderful place to live-in" Governance fails the citizen. Police fail to enforce provisions of law. Judiciary circumvents provisions of law. And for doing what they are not appointed to do, they get rewarded bountiful where they treat that the salary & perks being paid to them are peanuts. Pathetic and poor, India remains more
Ramesh ji, Today daily labour is also on contract for a day to do particular job of 8 hrs but you cannot make him permanent. We need contract workers whether it is physical work or manual work or paper/file work for certain type of works. Even part time accountants/CAs/typists/ general correspondence workers in small enterprises do contract work on 1 or 2 hr daily basis but you you cannot do away with them or you cannot make them permanent. It is only in Govt./PSU you have permanency. While corporates and all private have a one month notice clause, so where is permanency. Yes they get all benefits of allowances/PF/Gratuity etc. after 6 months working. Yes you can make every body permanent with one months notice clause. Atleast they work. more
Yes VVS. It again comes back to the question of governance. The people and departments, like RBI, Police etc, who have been provided to ensure the checks and balances just do not bother, and do not consider this as their job.We do not have to bring these discrepancies to their notice, they have to have a governing system which would check and rectify, and today technology can do it easily. But you need a WILL to do so. more
Yes Chandresh, just writing to the CM would not help as the abolishing of the contract labour is an ACT in India. Can it be repealed ? more
