Corruption in Drug Approval

News report today says the CBI raided Drug Controller Office of central government because Biocon gave bribe to the Joint Drug Controller for drug approval.

Ok so my question is we have seen covid vaccines, other drugs, other vaccines. are they generally/Historically given approval only after paying bribes by drug makers. If so, isnt this a public health crime by drug controllers. Explains why children die in India after drinking cough syrup.

Can there be a detailed investigation? Can every drug company who has gotten an approval under atleast this officer be scrutinised?

Dont be quiet on this friends/ more

Detailed investigation is needed not only against this particular officer alone but the entire system of giving approval of any kind of medicine of any company irrespective of their stature and reputation. more
Local Circles Manager should take this up strongly with the PM's office. At least let this department be corruption free. more
This matter is of serious concern being associated with lifes of Public at large. In such cases Death penalty should be imposed for any one associated with such type of corruption more
70 years of support post 1947 after 900 years of practice can not be reduced soon. Even if there is a movement like the French revolution - corruption is very much there in France today. Only long term solution is to change the education system - but, everyone starts reacting when there is a good change for India. more
