Corruption in property registration

The LocalCircles India corruption survey 2019 had established that people paid mist bribe for property registration transactions.

Pretty much the property registration office in every district has advocates or middle men basically charging the owner a large amount as fee for property registration and out of it paying a significant component as bribe to registrar or his deputy and team. Every registry has a bribe rate thats fixed.

Can LocalCircles and Govt Of India do something so registration process is online and transparent rather than in hands of these corrupt babus??? more

Also needs to consider the earnings of the lawyer as they claim to negotiate the stamp duty rate with the registrar??......govt. facilitates their survival as well....so no complaint??.....this must be a very old story....online will make many things redundant.....Further owners will always try to get a govt. approval done in one day by paying bribe as time is precious for some people and also for value of life ...it is short.....so who should be blamed?? more
Who paid bribes? Owners. Who will do online registration ? Owners . S So to blame babus for bribes is very unreasonable. For corruption owners are to be blamed .On line registration by owners will be absolute fraud . What's needed is improvement in the system . Most of the Lawyers and Chartered Accountants in India are NOT TRUSTWORTHY AT ALL. They are shamelessly and openly manipulators and, cheats and, therefore, responsible for a lot many problems in the country. more

For this reason the government made on-line registrations. But in on-line registrations the format of the document has to be according to the government and cannot be changed at all. This poses a risk for people as they have to be very careful in what they write in the document for their safety. Hence this has become invalid for many persons who are forced to pay the amounts to the advocate as well as the registration office. How many of you have seen the inside of the office. It is the most frustrating as one has to wait for hours to get thru as there are more than 100 people at any given time. more
