Corruption in Public Sector Undertaking

In Public Sectors Like ONGC, IOCL, BPCL Companies, the corruption is very high in Procurement and Maintenance contracts. Mostly, these types of PSUs do not deal directly with public, so the corruption is not highlighted or observed. The information of corruption is remaining among the employees only. In Most of cases, the management is hiding and protecting the corrupt employees for hiding their inefficiency, and employees are also not taking interest for disclosing the corruption thinking that there is no personal loss or gain to them due to corruption in organization. They see only their own benefit and stay least concerned. more

Thank you for your candid remarks. I believe that if we as individuals and as a society at large were a little more demanding and non negotiating, possibly a lot can be achieved. USA and EUROPE, SOUTH EAST ASIA are no different. The CATS need to be belled by you, me and all togethers in true earnest and true support for each other. Possibly we also need to use technology at private forums that will become acceptable in the long run and give protection from the governing system against any harassment or embarrassments. The team works will help. We need to find ways to remove corrupt from positions; possibly against PUBLIC COMPLAINTS. We also need to encourage Public Participation. One man may have self interest or personal prejudices, but public at large will stand by the TRUTH and HONEST and the the COURAGEOUS and the HELPFUL. The protection to the Bureaucracy has to go. The protection to the Politicians has to go. The protection to Corrupt Police has to go. The protection to the corrupt Judiciary has to go. The people at large need to be taken SERIOUSLY. Their grievances at large need to be taken seriously and addressed promptly. Now that we are in, better we all support immediate actions on the above. The PUBLIC NEEDS TO TAKE ITSELF SERIOUSLY. All is achievable. On Wed, Dec 28, 2016 at 9:55 AM, Sanjay Dalal wrote: > more
Where ever there is government involvement, there is corruption. Why. Either the government officials are corrupt or the movement of file is slow, attracting bribe. There should be accountability and timely disposal norms to stop corruption. more
True, but corruption can not be avoided and fought like nation intends to do. Who will bell the cat? There would always be self interests over and above the society or the company's interests and objectives and in the process the decent and the some what honest employees get side lined or at times are even fixed by corrupts. For the corrupt people it is easy to tell or support a lie. He may also take necessary precautions. For an honest person it is impossible to tell a lie and hide it. Ask yourself this question? An honest person today has to save his own survival, in Politics, Government bureaucracy, Public Sector and to some extent even in private sector now. The salaries have been revised. The working conditions have improved several times. However, the corruption has also gone up to the extent, that as if it is their moral right. The transparency in business, e-sourcing, monitoring at the highest level are all self satisfying ego's, nothing else. The individuals in position manipulate favoritism, and benefit those, they want to. I can not stop it; you can not stop it either. In current scenario either you leave or you go along or you will be dead any way, before you can realize. The only way to fight corruption is Government should get out of business. All public sector should be sold off at any cost with due respects Cha-cha Nehru, who took a lot of pain in building and supporting the public sector, when the Government had no money, the people had no money, the taxes were meager, the revenues were uncertain; the nations existence it self was uncertain. The government should trust its citizens on 1st priority than its employees. The citizens voice should first heard, respected and taken as true. Majority of citizens are not in business any way, so they have little axe to grind. Why for small petty gains they will put any one down? They only complain when their small jobs are delayed for irrational reasons. Like America the country should build free, fair, extra capacities and eliminate all types of shortages at any cost, be it by permitting extra capacities, foreign investments, free imports or what ever necessary. Every facility should be available for asking and on reasonable payment. The Government should leave foreign exchange management in the hands of people. The citizens are better business people, understand the value of their money better. The government should promote extensive, cheap travel across the borders of interest and support equal playing field, between foreigners and Indians. The Government should also reduce its charity and should make people stand on their feet with equal respect, irrespective of individuals current position. Every Indian is a hard working, self motivated, skillful individual. The opportunities have been denied to him to such an extent that generation after generation he still considers himself a slave either of Government agencies or his job supporting masters. The only subject Government should ensure " Free Education for All " at-least up-to Higher Secondary level, even higher who want and deserve. Any Government employees who knowingly and intentionally puts any citizen to loss or intentional inconvenience should be punished promptly. All legal security provisions should be with drawn from Government Employees, Public sector employees and politicians. If dear Modi can do this, I am sure he will be a NATIONAL HERO in the history of India. more
contract and corruption are two sides of a coin. no tendering action is perfect, hence there will be corruption. more
Only solution is privatize all PSU companies. There is no need for Govt to be in business Govt should concentrate on national security, internal security, law AND ORDER. If Govt can do this all other things will automatically solved.Development will be faster. more
