Corruption in Public Works
Due to corruption, or otherwise, India's civil engineers are among the worst in the world. Look at the design & quality of construction in infra (roads, bridges, buildings). Compare with the world.
We must discuss corruption in public works in India. Every year so many bridges collapse. How does this corruption take place. What controls will drastically reduce it?
Speak up folks or one day god forbid we and our family will be on a similar bridge and it will come apart. more

Once upon a time Saint Brahmam in Andhrapradesh said that lamps can be lighted with water . and no one Trusted. Now the roots of electrical bulbs go to water ie hydro or Hydal electricity. Similarly every one blames others for corruption of money but we all are corrupted in all walks of life. We think that every one should follow rules and we expect exceptions sometimes FOR US. Corruption is corruption it may be money or any type of rule breaking. Be it Wrong side driving jumping signals tea cup,cigar buds, Tips for gas cylinder delivery, Air at petrol pumps, hotel etc Politicians visit with hundreds of followers and expect the in charge to take care of all. Lower cadre expect tips higher ranks expect "care" HOW MANY OF US VOTE IN ELECTIONS How many vote without considering caste,religion,nepotism etc yet we condemn corruption Politicians has no retirement age and we vote them even if they can not/ did not attend assembly or parliament How many voters used NOTA. FORGET ALL THESE THING AS LONG AS WE PURCHASE WITHOUT BILL WE DO NOT HAVE MORAL RIGHT TO CONDEMN CORRUPTION. more

You can't blame engineers. All are controlled by Bureaucrats & politicians who demand all kinds of FREE SERVICES & MONIES from these engineers. Naturally, engineer can't pay from his pocket to these worthies or look after their requirements or welcoming practices. Even a garland would cost minm. Rs 100/- to thousands. From where would the engineer arrange just this garland, leave alone lunch, dinner, or higher end requirements. Obviously system needs to be changed - this was expected from Modi, but alas, nothing has happened. more

Unless the laws are made /enforced where the Engineers / authorities are made accountable and awarded punishment (both physical and monetary) the situation is unlikely to improve. Also, our justice system has to deliver the judgments fast. To enable it, infrastructure of justice system must be improved...... more

Yes. Corruption is everywhere except few. This is a cancer & taking away all good work done so many talented/hard working people. I don't think this will come down in near future as it is in blood of majority. Political support is the route cause for all these dirty along with greedy staff. Only big & srong circle formed with intension to curb corruption may help in reducing this to some extent. Abolishing of corruption is a dream & will never become reality in near future. more

Corruption is now everywhere. Expired is everything. P. C.Sen established the bridge in 1961. But no maintenance is seen as well as. It was opened in 1965. But why the Metro Railway is guilty. I was in Metro organisation since long. We have work honestly engineering work in BELGACHIA Tunnelling work under the soil by our engineers and Russian Engineers. But in Upper portion with full of business and buildings and R.G. kar Hospital and others. They didn't know what happened under the soil. So vibration is not the factors. It's a false illigation. We have done another difficult work at DUMDUM tunnel work honestly and fearlessly. By hydraulic jac system pushing the 42 METERS cement concrete under the soil but the trains were passing as well as. We have enough strength to the difficulties. Our Administration with Indian Engineering department faced day and night to solve the problem. Population is increasing day by day. Government should realise that the many bridges will be required now. I don't know what is syndicate. CUSTOMERS SERVICES may be possible by any one without PM. CONGRATULATIONS. more
