Corruption in Sales Tax / VAT dept - The anonymous Circle Member mentioned is correct and that there is possibilities of corruption and the Sales Tax/ VAT has to be deposited by the individual to the bank of the government account to avoid all sort of corruptions. I also personally seen in some of the hotels they are charging VAT to the customers on the item served and whether the VAT is paid to the government account or not who will verify it.
