Corruption Survey Insights

The corruption survey across 11 states in India by corruption watchdog Transparency International and LocalCircles was published in Times of India yesterday.

https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/45-indians-paid-bribe-in-past-one-year-survey/articleshow/62003995.cms

One of the insightful findings I read was that 84% of corruption that affects aam aadmi is local. My question is how can then a great leader at the helm in center reduce it. they can't.

We instead need champions and doer chief ministers at state levels to fight corruption?

Can we list a series of actions they should be doing. like hotline, website, encouraging every dept to connect on social media, rating of officials etc? more

No means to complain for common man against Government servants. more
Corruption is prevailing not only in government employees and officers but our politics and politicians are also highly corrupt, who eat up not less than 50% of the government spending on developmental activities. The entire staff and elected body of the municipalities are also highly corrupts and quality of all public works done through thee agencies are substandard as a major part of each fund outlays goes to the pockets of these people. The government as well does not appear to be sincere in eradicating corruptions. Enough steps has not been taken even by the present government in centre as yet even to arrest the trend. The appointment of Lokpals has not been given effect to during last 7 years. Even the present government has not yet evinced any interests for appointment of the Lokpals and to make Lokpal functioning. We, being common man, feel privileged by getting our works done out of the way on bribing. Under such a situation and mentality, corruptions are likely to stay on the land at least for another couple of decades or mor. e more
Corruption is mostly due to delay or denial of service. In case of public servants, it is due to caused by delaying or denying a process which they are bound to do. By introducing a time limit for all processes, with proper authentication in case of denial or delay, corruption can be largely contained. For example, issuing a duplicate fee receipt should be completed within 2 days, failing which the concerned official should give an explanation in writing to the person concerned as well as his superior officers. more
Corruption percentile may have been observed high at local levels owing to lack of knowledge of the poor people living in remote area and for their living they usually tend to pay money considering that it is fee under the practices for last long time. One may find a statement from many officials and political leaders that it has been Way of Life in India. The Indian people have become shameless specifically when they start exploiting people the way it was happening in pre-independence days. British Rulers have gone but their deep rooted practices are still alive in administration. more
Let me share my thoughts when we apply technology in the Government offices. That also becomes handicap for most of the common people owing to inaccessibility to such technologies and lack of knowledge. Mediators normally introduced by government officials take undue advantage giving rise to corrupt practices. It is most important that all officials must understand their responsibilities towards people and extend due services. The fact is that people are interested in those jobs and roles where they can earn extra money. Perhaps complete overhaul of service terms and role is essentially called for. Can our country accept such a change? I doubt in near future because Vote Bank is playing undue role. Reforms will have to come at Political level and that is undue expectation because we do not believe in self discipline but expect even today like British era that people will have to behave in disciplined manner.

What a destiny our country has? more
In the Governance of the Country:Role of centre is 5%,role of states-45% and other organisations covering rural and local bodies ,additionally,50%.

Its a huge task to curb -Corruption of all kinds.
