Corruption
I am giving herewith an example for corruption in Railway…..
I booked e-ticket from Kanpur to New Delhi by Garib Rath train. When I have checked the status of the train, it shows the train is late more than six hours, so I have dropped my plan to travel.
And I have filed the TDR but after 2 months I have received an email from IRCTC that TDR REQUEST REPUDIATED because of PASSENGER HAS TRAVELLED.
When I wrote a mail to IRCTC they said that please contact to Zonal Railway.
Below are some questions –
1. How TC can mentioned that the passenger has travelled when I didn’t ???
2. Why should I pay the Rail fare when I was not travelled ??
3. To whom I contact at Zonal Railway ?? more

This happens on two occasions. One generally in SL class where TTE do not check the tickets. Secondly when TTE accommodates some passenger/rly staff the donot mark the seat as not turned up/vacant. In such cases after the arrival at destination, the charts of TTEs are entered in computer which will naturally show as passenger travelled.. At present ticket booking is allowed upto 30 minuts before departure in current availability both in counters and on online through irctc, cancellation must also be permitted. more

Have you tried Customer Care IRCTC on phone and whether you get connected and able to speak. taking the subject on their E- mail ID, it meet the same fate without any response. more
