Corruption

Corruption cases can be grouped as minor, medium and major. Eg
Minor- charging for air at petrol bunks. It was free years ago. Now cash income, unaccounted.
Gas cylinder delivery boys collecting Rs 30 minimum extra.
Medium- revenue dept land/house registrations.
Major- at MLA level and above.

All these can be resolved by changing rules, on line payment system, sakal rules, e-tendering etc gradually.

But you should not hit minor takers before reducing cost of living. Provide mass housing for middle class in each state. Provide free quality education in vernacular medium up to 10th standard. more

In my locality driving licence is taken by the people illegally at rs 1500/- through agents ,but actually it cost only 90 /- rs. No one to look after it. more
Corruption be made an anti-national activity more
Dear BVR - You have touched upon the subject quite nicely. However, I would not call gas cylinder delivery boy taking Rs. 30 extra as corruption as it is not a condition set by him before he hands over the cylinder to you. I would call it TIPS as you would normally give it voluntarily. I do not pay such money to the boy. Secondly, I also disagree with you on free air at petrol outlets. Actually, the air used to inflate is not "air". It is "compressed air" and it requires cost like electricity, amortization of the compressor etc. to produce. Therefore, legitimate amount must be paid for this air. I would agree that you may demand a cash memo for this air too by paying the money at the office of the petrol outlet. For Medium and Major corruption, I fully agree with you that we should make stricter laws to deal with high-level corruption. But here also the problems may be plenty since the rule makers themselves are corrupt. E.g. the UPA Government was full of corrupt ministers. The Babus who assist them are more corrupt. In fact, the ministers get various corruption ideas and help to implement those ideas from these Babus only. And once the ministers get the taste of blood, their hunger goes up and up without bounds. I am sure now with Shri. Narendra Modi as PM the necessary laws / amendments / rules would be framed to deal with corruption. Stricter punishments, fines should be incorporated. Then we can say that after getting "Swarajya" in 1947, we got "Surajya" now. more
Corruption is if the money is demanded for some right work . But giving some money for small erands /services is tip. more
