Courier Services Standards
This is really the need of hour. The earlier it is done better it is. Some of my important documents have have lost or got not-delivered, due to callousness of the courier companies. There was no remedial management and i had to drop the matter where it was. It is high time to do so and there should be simple deterrent to these couriers business people. They should be made to understand the importance of trust a customer reposed on these companies. Since my episodes, i have stopped going to these couriers,and switched to speed post instead.

Both systems have their + and - points.Firstly where they are located near to your office/residence.Secondly how much do they charge.Because as per me nobody takes responsibility.Many a times speed post takes more time then courier. more

Though speed post is better option than many private courier services but it also need lot of improvement and accountability. It appears that speed post do not keep record of deliveries made. While the delivery is usually later than normal, and if asked for a certificate of delivery they want the sender to provide all the details of the consignment booked. As against that Blue Dart is well organised and fast. Between Delhi Mumbai often deliveries are made same day. more

No government binding or norms set by government or courier companies them self set reforms, where by, one who looses his parcel, there can be compensation. As far valuable documents or high value articles, or very important documents are concerned, always better to cart it through SPEED POST. Though, government body takes some steps to investigate, private couriers don't even listen to any complaints. Today postal department is bleeding, on account of inefficient workmanship. The basis reason why courier mushroomed in India is basically because of the inefficient working of the postal department. Because of the poor quality performance, today postal department is almost sinking. As long as possible, all valuable parcels, preferably be sent only through registered basis, as incase of responsibility of courier is concerned, one cannot get any positive reply. more

Past 10 years we should have ben noticing a change in the attitude of the postal staff particularly at he counters , Post men & women . They are polite and counter staff are attentive ,conscious of their responsibilities to the Customer . We NOW have a mix of old and Young Post men & women. THE YOUNGER ONES DON'T VISIT HOMES IN A GROUP OR INDIVIDUALLY FOR FESTIVAL BAKSHISH . more

you are right..!!.. If u can afford, try DLF or BLUE DART couriers for safe carrying of your goods or documents. Local based couriers are all goons and are controlled by 'politically affiliated' mafias. If it works fine but, if it does not, you have no recourse. In these circumstances, it would be much safer and easier to handle SPEED POST. After all, it is Central Govt. owned and WE HAVE SOME RECOURSE, IF THERE IS DEFICIENCY OF SERVICE..!!.. Only flip side is, you have to put up with the bureaucratic behavior of the Post Office staff..!!.. more
