Courts in India
We need to be clear, the courts don't give justice to the common man.
Are they accountable? Does the litigant have any right to question ? Why a simple case is not decided for 20 years ?
The judges and the staff still get paid. The lawyers charge , make a treaty with the opposition lawyers and merrily continue to fool the common man.
Where is justice in this whole process ? The media who should high light what's actually happening is totally silent on the subject.
Do you read how many times a case is adjourned for flimsy reasons?
So some more holidays , or less , there is no justice system in place anyway. It's the saddest failure of our democracy, as the justice system has completely failed the common man. more

Number of times, we have seen clear side effects... Ashamed to proclaim INDIA IS THE BIGGEST DEMOCRACY!!! Going deep into the functioning of entire court proceedings including the LAWYERS, there is no way JUSTICE available for the common man in this country! It's quite unfortunate, as we can not do anything on this! Our generation will have to surpass the so called INJUSTICE in place of JUSTICE! God Bless! more

One must have observed that in some of the matters the Application made are immediately accepted and decided whereas in Same and similar matters the Applications made in similar way is NOT even accepted leave aside the decision on the same. The reason - Not even cited, clearly evidencing the double standards applied and applicable by the same Court. more

Have to learn a lesson that justice is always delayed. This is from the experience of UK Courts which took about two years to decide on Mallya's extradition. Another 4 to 6 months to go, since he has the right to appeal. The basic case of frauds is still to commence in India. No surprise that Indian courts take 20 years or more to decide a case from the lower courts to the Supreme Court of India. Then what are we discussing? more

No doubt, the working system of our courts needs to be revamped in keeping with the prevailing situation rather than following the decades old systems & procedures. The upper time limit to finally decide cases must be capped according to their merit. Meanwhile, necessary steps have to be taken to ensure clearance of all pending cases in various courts of the country in a phased manner without any more delay. more

The whole model of courts is upside down. 1. Courts work on the pretext of arguments. Whereas justice is based on the on ground situation, facts involving investigating agencies. 2. World over, the investigating agencies first do their works, only after that charges are filed. Whereas in India, charges are filed first. 3. Courts act like shopping malls. Pay more to get more. One pays hefty amounts to various lawyers simply to prove that one is honest. The whole model of British style courts need to be revamped to provide justice, rather than a ground for fleecing innocent victims. more
