Covaxin Shortage!

Covaxin

When the vaccines appeared on the scene, no one had on option and they had to accept whatever vaccine that was available in the centre near to them. There is also no clarity about the time interval between the two shots! It only mentioned the period after which the second dose needed to be taken and not about the period within which it had to be taken. I am 72 years now and I have mobility constraints particularly during the lockdown period and with shortage of Covaxin, my second dose is still elusive and already more than 7 weeks are over after the first dose! Helpline assured that I would get a message! While second dose of Covishield is being deferred, there is no such information about Covaxin. Govt. should prioritise such senior citizens who had taken the first dose and make available the vaccine for their second shot, at a place nearer to them. Otherwise the uncertainty continues and the apprehension whether it would be effective if the second dose is further delayed, is always scary! Kannan more

Very senior citizens are finding difficulty in accessing covaxin portal when the allotment is notified more
Wonder why these people did not take the vaccines when it was available in plenty and now cribbing about the shortage of vaccines and blaming the Government? You people delay taking the first dose and when the vaccines are not available you raise a huge hue and cry for the same more
I got the 1st dose on 9th April and due for 2nd dose. The 2nd dose should be taken within 6 weeks, i.e., 22nd May. Covaxin is not available even in private hospitals. I am told to check "next week", i.e., week of 24th May. I hope the vaccines become available atleast then. more
Very bad planning of vaccine distribution. Requirement of the 2nd doze of Covaxin has not been considered at all. more
Sorry to hear your condition. I wish you will get the vaccine soon. I feel it is better to check with some private hospitals like Apollo, Manipal, Fortis, etc. They will charge, but you may get. Some offer even home service. please check their online portals. Hope this helps! more
