Covid-19 India tracking and way forward

Trend

April 5: 4,000 cases
April 3: 3,000 cases
April 1: 2,000 cases
March 28: 1,000 cases
March 14: 100 cases
March 4: 10 cases
January 30: 1 case

Within 1 week our cases have quadrupled. Really need to strictly extend lockdown by 15 days in all districts where we even have 1 case. Where we have 50+ cases extend lockdown by 1 month.

We have a week of lockdown remaining. It would be important to analyse the figures and I am sure that administration has the experts on the task. The administration must extend the lockdown if they deem it necessary. The prevailing challenge of containing the contagion is here to stay till such time that vaccine and medical treatment of infection is commonly available. Therefore, it becomes necessary for us to find methods to systematically and in sequence of priority of needs, allow the industry to operate. Ofcourse, administration must ensure that industry follows all necessary precautions for prevention. I would suggest that production units may be allowed to operate to ensure availability of products and offices must continue operating from homes as they are now. I know it is going to be very difficult to prioritise what to start and what not to, but the bigger challenge would be to manage the manufacturing and service industry representatives in a democratic setup. I will however, support the administration in every step they take to manage the crisis. more
Hopefully covid 19 cases may come down by 14th April and complete lockdown may be tappered down. The recent rise in cases may be attributed to antisocial activites like Nizamuddin meeting in Delhi, Indore like incidents etc. more
As we test, more cases will be found and more people will need to be quarantined. Those districts/towns without a positive case till 14th April, may be opened in phased manner. If any case is discovered subsequently again a lock down can be implemented. People should be advised not to travel outside their local areas. For example, from 10 am to 3 pm should be enough, and its also peak of heat time (heat may affect the virus). Services where close contact may occur should not be permitted such as beauty parlor (sigh!), hairdresser. Other shops, Restaurants can resume with only Take Away service or with separation of 2 mts between two customers. more
