Excerpt from the TOI of April 20, 2020: Are we really receiving the true and actual figures ? "It's not just China: Last week, when its death toll had reached 6,589, New York City revised its fatality count by a whopping 57% in a single day by adding 3,778 deaths to its official tally, saying that those people had died of 'probable' exposure to Covid-19. Italy, among the hardest hit countries by the global pandemic, was the first to reveal that the death toll in its northern Lombardy region, which was the hardest hit, was twice the official tally. In the province of Bergamo, for instance, the official death toll of 2,060 was revised to 4,500 after taking into account people who died at home without being tested. In Spain, local administrations in Catalonia and Madrid say the death toll due to the pandemic is over 7,500 and 10,000 — against the country's official figures of 3,752 and 7,007, respectively. UK and Belgium are the other countries which say their fatality count may be higher than official figures — with the former's Office for National Statistics itself saying that the actual death toll due to Covid-19 will be 15% higher than the official tally." Are these figures really authentic, or yet another eyewash ?? more
Does it mean that India can be under lock-down till the growth stops? What if that continues till 2021? Even the Govt/Experts have no clue so all are silent about that. more
Like in other countries, even here the graph is embarking on the exponential ascent !! more
This is a lesson for everyone and every country. P M has done right thing of extending lock down upto 3rd May, 2020 more
A good example of exponential growth, proving why , the PM had to take the painful decision to lock down the country. more
