Covid 3rd wave and Delta plus mutuation worries

The timing & severity of the next wave depends upon -

1️⃣Human behaviour

2️⃣Virus transmission

3️⃣Vaccine penetration

4️⃣Virus mutation

These are listed IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE according to my understanding of the available evidence.

Let's address these one by one.

Human behaviour:

COVID APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOUR must b followed until we get a drug that KILLS the virus with minimal effects on us.

*Social distancing
*Mask up - double masking+ COVER NOSE & MOUTH is must when you're going out into a potentially crowded area
*Sanitize hands freq

Human behaviour contd - it does not end with SMS.

Ishwar forbid but IF, at all,u feel COVID symptoms coming on, ur subsequent behaviour is imp.

*Isolate urself from yr family
*Get tested ASAP
*DON'T GO OUT & MINGLE TILL U GET YR REPORT
*IF +ve, inform every1 u may hv contacted

Virus transmission :
Depends upon two factors -
*Ability of the virus to mutate into a more transmissible form - this is normal & WE cannot do ANYTHING to change it.

*Opportunities WE GIVE to the virus by our COVID inappropriate behaviour - stay home, avoid unnecessary travel.

Vaccine penetration :
About 40% of our populace is <18 yrs & doesn't hv a recommended vaccine YET. Hopefully, will have by Sep-Oct 🤞

Remaining 60% must get vaccinated ASAP.
Talk to ur family, friends & acquaintances & motivate them.
Don't pay heed to antivaxxers - lot of misinfo

Virus Mutation

This is a normal, natural phenomenon that occurs in ALL viruses.

There's NOTHING known that YOU can do to affect this EXCEPT AVOID CROWDS.

But maximum noise today in SM/MSM will be seen around this.

TLDR

*Mask up
*Cover NOSE AND MOUTH
*Double mask when crowded area
*Social distance
*Sanitize hands
*Avoid needless travel
*GET VACCINATED ASAP
*Motivate your circle to get vaccinated
*Don't buy into SM/MSM hysteria about doom/miracle cures/vaccine hesitancy more

During last one year and a half we have read and learnt a lot about the virus, its periodical mutations, importance of human behavioural attitude towards the virus, necessity of precautions need to be adhered to by each one of us to remain safe of the deadly virus, how to act on becoming susceptible of getting any of the known Covid symptoms and so on and so forth. However, majority of our people continue to be negligent towards the Covid guidelines causing the situation getting worse. Complete absence of maintenance of social distance in all our markets and other public places is still very common. The administration need to act with seriousness towards this important requirement. more

Only way to avoid Virus infection is to stay away from all human beings. What makes you sure that virus mutation are taking place only within the boundaries of countries? There is always a possibility of new viruses custom made to attack a certain group of individuals being developed in labs and planted like the initial strain. Periodically getting 💉 is only way to fight the monster effectively. Long term effects of virus infection and of vaccination haven’t been studied. It is going to be jungle law here. Survival of the fittest. Either the virus Kills the host or the host kills it. Till then stay safe. more
Masking, Distancing, Vaccination Stops Virus more
What is required to be followed is well known to all. But, why a large population do not follow it. It is due to a thinking that nothing will happen to them. Government also relaxed by saying in March that India has overcome the covid virus. There are sceptics even for having the vaccination. I hope that vaccination is done at a fast pace to cover at least 70% of the population by year end. Only then, we can breath easy. more
Stubborn attitude or carelessness of public is main cause for spike or super spike. In second wave more youngsters met fatality due to careless behavior. Government Doctors, scientists social workers including media have been spreading awareness since March 2020 and incase public expect only awareness, public needs wipes besides penalty improvement. No body in the earth can help for stubbornness attitude of public. more
