Covid and Children

I don’t want my child repeatedly infected with a novel virus that invades the brain. Not sure why this is controversial but here we are.

It seems that a lot of people don't know this

The virus can enter the brain in two ways: direct infection via the nose and olfactory nerves, or via the bloodstream

Once in the brain, it can damage the area of the brain responsible for autonomic function.

But you almost never see this in the mainstream media, and it seems a lot of docs don't know about this. Society is collectively sticking its head in the sand.

In light of OmicronVariant schools should be reconsidered more

Sorry for some guesswork here, but because you said "my child", it would be better to speak to your regular/family child specialist. Next to that, if you are a medical professional (or) medical researcher, would like to draw your attention to the fact that the screenshot posted is that of an article, and following the references in that article (and forward), we come to this paper: Neurologic Manifestations of Hospitalized Patients With Coronavirus Disease 2019 in Wuhan, China. https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamaneurology/fullarticle/2764549 This paper states, and I quote: "Compared with patients with nonsevere infection, patients with severe infection were older, had more underlying disorders, especially hypertension, and showed fewer typical symptoms of COVID-19, such as fever and cough. Patients with more severe infection had neurologic manifestations, such as acute cerebrovascular diseases (5 [5.7%] vs 1 [0.8%]), impaired consciousness (13 [14.8%] vs 3 [2.4%]), and skeletal muscle injury (17 [19.3%] vs 6 [4.8%])." So, the alleged/suspected Neurologic issues are completely irrelevant for children. Such effects were observed in seniors with comorbidities. more
Maybe we need to accept the fact that Covid is here to stay with multiple variants not just today but for months or years. Better to take precautions and stay healthy and keep safe. There are several of my friends who have not taken the vaccine and say this is a made up story! I tried but I really cannot convince them. more
My guess is that concerned officials have considered all this before ordering opening of schools. Nonetheless, Madam can raise this locally and obtain relief or satisfactory reply. Let me not assume the expertise that is not with me at least. more
it will be apropriate Govt. should start Vaccination at least for school children below 18 yrs if they succeeded trial of vaccine for children if not then on priority may complete. more
