Cricket Stadiums and MRP Rules
One of the members had said they had to buy a bottle of water for 100 rupees. Yesterday when were there at IPL final match pretty much everything was selling above MRP at Wankhede Stadium.
Why are the legal metrology officials not enforcing. I feel with a few inspectors you will never be able to enforce so why dont the govt amend rules such that punishment is so high that most dont dare to violate rule. more

1. entry tickets are for maintaining ambience in stadium. Why extra on MRP? 2. If the price is based on ambience. Then different MRP s are required to be fixed without leaving to the management. more

It is now more than a year that we have been discussing on this burning issue at large but our government is so deaf that the dishonest traders got free hands to continue ill designed activities without fear. more

There is a Supreme Court ruling on selling of packaged water over MRP. Supreme Court has permitted the argument that additional charge by restaurant are justified because of the cost of ambience that need to be shared with the customers. The same argument is also valid for a cricket match. So either we bear with it or again go to the Supreme Court with a review petition. more
