Dear Members, Burning of wastes in agricultural farms is not the basic reason of Pollution and it may have very nominal impact. It is just to create diversion of the issue by the authorities who have been failing time and again in delivering their assigned duties making day to day life of common people disciplined and sensible. We as citizens must visualise the facts. Dust control mechanism has not been effective in the capital and through out the country. Motor vehicle pollution goes up when the vehicles become stand still to run in idoling or run at a very low speed because of road encroachments and/or poor conditions of roads. Has any governing body ever tried to improve the road traffic for smooth running by eliminating the road encroachments? Who all are responsible for such failures? more
Amit ji,
Please recall the past when this type of situation was not experienced in Delhi and how farmers were practising those days. Also try to find out how much impact is there on the other cities around Delhi and those places are close to farms in Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. more
Sir - it is the primary cause more
Dear Sirs.....Maintaining Law and Order and any kind of calamity at any place is the purely the job of the State Police. Why every time Defence Forces or the Para-military are used for such purpose. They not been trained to tackle Law and Order situations. They are trained to kill and save general public as whole. more
There is a solution, Hans Foundation is making organic compost / manure by using these leftovers of field after the yield. more
Farmers don't burn stubble because they enjoy. They don't have an alternative. To let loose CRPF on them is so cruel. How can the State even think of such a drastic measure to stop a harmful practice for which the farmers cannot be held responsible? Let the State authorities lift the prali/stubble and innovate some uses for it on an urgent basis. more
I agree. the action is needed at government level. find some solution to the problem by providing them an alternative to stubble burning. pushing CRPF or any such drastic step is welcome only if there is an alternative to tackle with the situation. This view is applicable for all the drastic steps by any of the government and in any of the states. more
