Normally daadima's nuske suggest to avoid milk and banana for a kid suffering from cough,I agree to some extent because neck of kid is small and chances are during a bout of cough the kid may vomit out heavy food, supposedly milk and bananas, but adults are also advised same. Why? People suffering from Chronic Pulmonary Lung Disease(COPD) due to pollution need fresh oxygen or oxygen supplied through concenterator of air through a machine, high protein diet and medicines plus or minus steroids depending on severity of disease. I feel milk and milk products are simple proteins, easy to digest provided we use toned milk.Does AYUSH agree with others to avoid dairy products during phases of chronic cough? more
Ram Prakashji, while I do not entirely disagree with your sentiments, if we accept it in entirety, then we better not eat anything at all as with the dirty dozen pesticides being given free run in our country, the entire water supply is full of toxic substance. These days, there is much confusion about what food stuff is good and bad, but I am talking about a fairly good quality of milk, which can even now be accessed with a bit of effort, if one puts it in. It might be alos a good idea if people take this adulteration of milk with the government from hat ever fora that they can as the govt. creating multiple type of saleable millk that are diluted and from which fat and snf is removed, is also part of the problem. more
We can grow turmeric and ginger at home very easily. You need to plant a piece with spout easily available in market these days for ginger in a planter . June is the right month for planting. The sprout will come in 7-10 days and roots will be ready for use within 5-6 months. Raw turmeric is not easily available in market these days. It will be available in cold season. So buy some and keep it for planting in June. more
Dear Chandershekhar Sharma ji. Perhaps u are talking of the times about 40-50 years back. What was d quality of milk, ghee, termeric and ginger at that time. Did our fathers use chemical fertilizers/insecticides/pesticides for produce,or the dairy man prepared milk with the help of chemicals like detergents/greese/ palm/butter oil etc? Also, what was our daily routine of work, even if we were small students? Was there a day when we did not sweat? We could take Halwa,Poori, means, we plough the fields-Hal Wah n eat Halwa. Poori means Full. Do Full labor n have Poori. That's why today's milk n its products are dangerous/poisonous Hence, not recommended. Anyhow you can take pure desi cow milk or its chhachh,if u are lucky enough to procure it. more
