Damaged fruits are used for the fruit juice vendors

Today I had been to Pazhamudhir Cholai, Trichy Road unit to buy the fruit juice of Pomegranate for my brother in a hospital. Though there were plenty of Pomegranate fruits in the stores they said the juice was not available. When pointed out the sales girl said they allot only the broken or damaged fruits for the juice. As all the broken fruits have already been consumed the selling of that particular fruit juice was stopped. Though they charge Rs 100 per glass they use the defective fruits being brought for the patient. This is objectionable. I told the sales girl that I am going to publish it. She did not bother much.

This system of unsafe fruits for the juice should be avoided. People to note and everyone must insist for the right material. People should abandon the shops not giving value to their hard earned money more

Yes, it is a fact. FSSAI or the health Inspectors needs to keep watch on such vendors. more
First of all our system of Fruit storage is not up to the mark.India being a poor country we do not have cold storage facility for farm produce. With the result we consume unhygenic farm produce or lot of them is wasted. The economic standard can be improved if we control our population. more
To avoid all issues, select fruits of choice, get them washed and ask the shop to make juice of the expectation this is the safest. Other alternative, buy fruit and make juice at home. As there is no laid out norms and/or any method by which one can lodge complaint. If you lodge complaint against the juice vendor, he will not entertain the buyer. Above all all inspection staff of any department are highly corrupt and one cannot get justice at all. more
you can make a complaint to the local official of FSSAI more
Eat fresh fruits; Do not drink fruit juice as it is harmful to your health more
