Dark screen in Sony Bravia KDL42W700B. Can you help as no Service Support from Sony
My TV Sony Bravia KDL42W700B is powering-on but the screen is dark grey and nothing is visible. I had tried Sony call centre but no one even picks up the call. Ultimately I had to send a mail whose auto acknowledgment came after three days! It's been a week even after the acknowledgement and no one fro Sony has come. Can anyone guide / help what the issue could be and if we should try to get it repaired through any other agency.
I am unable to find the year of manufacture . If its more than 2 years old, please throw it and buy a new Mi Android TV. Not sure if you ave tried this link: https://www.sony.co.in/electronics/support/televisions-projectors-lcd-tvs/kdl-42w700b more
Have you tried the "Settings"? These 'smart' TVs need to be set-up and when not done or an indeterminate button on the remote is pressed you’d get a screen grey with snow effect. I have a Sony Bravia and whenever I press the wrong button - bingo I get the grey screen. So I suggest you "experiment" with your remote. It’s smart and outsmarts me often. more
Sir, Whether the product is in warranty or otherwise ,the Manufacturing Company is bound to provide service support in case of malfunctioning of product. The complaint sent by you and the response by company(acknowledgement) alongwith the bill reciepts showing the purchase will be your evidence. You can approach the Consumer Forum of your District against the 1Retailer2The Dealer3The Manufacturer or importer whicher the case.Consumer case is simple cost effective way as no court fee is required. You can plead yourself or through pleader of your choice. more
If there is warranty/guarantee period, and if the supplier does not responds proper, you need to send a legal notice to both manufacturer and seller under Regd. Post AD and a copy be sent through Certificate of Post. All these documents and mails you sent to them, be kept to produce before the court. Even if the manufacturer or seller does not responds positive, you may file a case before the Consumer Court in your place through any Advocate for redressal. Then they may file an appeal before the State Court and there, you agree to compromise leaving the court cost or interest and any other damages that the lower court may award, so that they will not go to next higher court. If the seller or manufacturer does not accepts compromise, then the state court will slap them with some more penalties. Then they may go to full bench or Central Court for redressal. To avoid all such protractions, just agree for a compromise at the State Court leaving some reliefs such as interest, court cost, damages (excluding the cost of TV). Definitely you will win the case. more
