Date of Manufacture and Expiry on all Packed Food items.
A lot of local packed food products sold in the market do not carry the mandatory 'Manufacturing date and Expiry date'. This can lead to sale of stale and contaminated food to unsuspecting buyers. There should be a watch dog to keep an eye on sale such hazardous products. Need to create general awareness among public is imperative. more

Yes . Many local suppliers provide do not give information like Manufacture and expiry dates. Sinnce they are cheaper than the branded ones and without preservatives many people prefer them. more

As rightly said, creation of awareness amongst the consumers is most important and should get priority. Majority of our consumers including the educated ones are ignorant of these most important information prior to purchasing any packed food items. Moreover, these important information are generally printed on the packets in English and in very small letters & figures making it difficult to search out and read, particularly, by those who can read only local language with difficulty, who are unaware & ignorant of the importance of these information. more
