De-registration of old diesel vehicles in GBN
GBN Residents:
We are in receipt of the LocalCircles poll where 68% of Gautam Budh Nagar residents surveyed are supporting the de-registration of 10 year old diesel vehicles.
I have advised the RTO and they will be implementing this.

I have communicated all environment related forums and circles that most important is that the vehicles should be crushed or scrapped otherwise these will be on road again. It is impossible for any enforcement authority to check if it is more than 10 years old or deregistered. more

Banning is only a part of the solution. Is there any approved way of scrapping the vehicles? Along with banning, administration should come up with ways of how to scrap / a bond on an old vehicle with approval more

Sir, There are so many vehicles on roads which are not very old but they emits so much smoke that nothing is visible behind them. No action is being taken against them. Pl ban all types of Diesel engines, pump sets, tractors, Gensets , state owned buses, earth moving equipments, cranes, JCB etc which are more than 10 year old and use Diesel. more

This is only one step, we also need to ensure the UPSRTC buses or even the busses that ply from Delhi or elsewhere that enter GBN should be checked and not allowed to enter. This would be ensuring the lungs of the district remain cleaner. Burning of garbage should be banned. more
