We now wait for the Indian case studies which may be useful for students in various areas of their education. more
Yes, its the need of hour. Our ancient literature gives us lot of case studies. I do use them during my lecture. Participants appreciate & also feel to be ours. more
Thanks to all you for your comments. In India we have many management theories based on Ancient Indian Wisdom, even many scholars and Indian institutions are working on same lines. But the revolution will only happen when our government takes some initiatives by introducing text books written on Indian Management. more
Traditionally most of our educational institutions prepare students for getting good highly paying JOBS. The reputation of an institution is judged on the basis of the highest salary commanded by their student as reported by the placement officer. Even our IIMs do not turn out practising managers but mostly cogs in the running of a big gear train of a large business empire. I am reminded of a news item I read many years ago about a famous IIM in our country. The adminstration of the IIM was not able to manage the staff माली लोग that was employed to maintain their vast open space campus gardens. Finally the solution was found in outsourcing the garden maintainance through a contractor. Our educational institutions should develop the self employment entrepreneureship spirit in our youth rather than be content to land high paying jobs. Only then our nation will see real growth. more
Look, Indian, western or Village each theory talks about the processes. And each has to be proved on a case of some sample. The results are corroborated and published as standards. And the people have faith in that. But here we just don't believe the person until advocated by some foreigner. Also the most of the students today are Google and Wikipedia based and I rarely find reports referring to the local cases instead of the big foreigner cases such as Goldman Sach etc. more
