Death Trap - Expressway Service Lane
Dear DM Sir,
I would like to bring your kind attention towards the Noida Greater Noida expressway service lanes. By design service lanes are made to help people either enter (merge) or exit from an Expressway/Freeway / Motorway however the “Noida Greater Noida expressway service lanes” are used as roads for bidirectional traffic which is totally wrong. There are additional dual carriageway roads just next to service lanes and that should be used for bidirectional traffic and not service lanes. Noida Greater Noida expressway service lanes are used for bidirectional traffic because that is how they seem to be created and it has become a death trap. There are accidents happening on these service lanes regularly, cars, bikes etc smashing and people getting hit and hurt.
Can I request that this aspect is looked and service lanes are used as one way (along the direction of traffic on expressway) so that people can easily exit from or expressway or merge to expressway and reduce on accidents.

Verry true. I had face problem driving at night, that too in winter fog. A vehicle coming from the wrong side had momentarily shook my nerve. Thankfully the bang got avoided. I think very strict scrutiny should me maintained to check the direction and rules violators. more

DM Sir, Further to Mr. Kaul's post I would like to update that I am a daily commuter of Noida - Greater Noida Express way. I notice the flouting of traffic laws and rules daily by Road Transport Busses, Private Busses, Trucks and Dumpers. Following are the offences they are doing routinely: 1) Most of these Heavy Vehicles drive at very high speed much higher than their prescribed limit of 60 Km/Hr. 2) Almost all of them prefer to drive in Car Lane or Overtaking Lane. 3) I have noticed the Road Transport busses plying from Agra and Aligarh to Noida are speeding and trying to overtake all the running vehicle from any side left or right. 4) There are cameras installed but it seems they are not working because there are repeat offender of above referred offences.
