Defective Products Recall

It is need of the hour that we push the Government to enable a mandatory recall process for high value serviceable products. A starting point could be making reporting of product defect consumer complaints (at product, batch/lot level) mandatory by brands on their website and to BIS/CCPA for those that have a BIS registration/approval. It will be game changing.
If i go by data half of us have something of value at home inside warranty and with a defect. more

One should be very mucj presise about product. Incase packed consumable product, mfg and expiry date. Weighment and quality. Rate etc. There are weighment variations noticed serveral occasions. But dealers, claim, the printed weight final for pricing and incase of weighment vatiation, they don't accept vale for the quantity delivered.. Here a buyer need not to buy such packed products. Price variation at different outlets?. How that is happening in open market, than from whole seller? With regards to defective products, while purchasing and/ or while receiving products at home, insist for open delivery. While receiving make rekark on challan if product found defective either due to handling, manufacturing or workmanship at the time of commissioning, either full refund or new fresh replacement to be insisted. Not to forget to video the whole process. As there are many issues related to other products, i. e. Moveable items, house rental premises, bookings of travel furnitures etc., buyer to handle carefully, and as a last step seek legal assistance. Do come back in any issues to share solutions, as government has no control over sales and after sales. more

If you go to Consumer Courts, usually the case is disputed by the manufacturer/supplier. And th Consumer Court cases take a long long time to resolve the disputes. more

Amazon already allows refund for defective products bought from their site. Consumer courts too do it. more
