Delhi delays and Pollution
We have family arriving from different parts of India and world for a family reunion to Delhi and everyone is delayed. Trains late and airplanes late due to fog and poor air quality continues. Earlier we were saying stubble burning in Punjab main reason. Whats the reason now. Why no enforcement on garbage burning. more

Delhi, a beautiful city is turned into a polluted, crowded and violent city, the residents of Delhi have started thinking of shifting to a peaceful and clean city. Strong and effective steps are required to be taken to save Delhi. You go any where in India away from NCR, you will be perceptible change in air we breath, All the Delhi residents will realize it soon. more

I spent my New Year on train traveling from Ahmedabad to Delhi in Ashram Express. Train scheduled to depart from Ahmedabad (starting station) at 18:30 hrs left 15 minutes left...No explanations were forthcoming...on the way in Rajasthan the Fog played its game and the train was 2 hours behind schedule in Ajmer. Morning fog was no better...entering into Haryana, the train almost became a passenger train halting at all and sundry stations and as per Railway Rules if a train is late and is terminating at Delhi, then delay it further and let other trains to farther destination go through first. So we were 3 hours behind schedule...the IST (Indian Standard Time). Irrespective of who the Railway Minister is...everybody is defenceless against Fog.Lalu Yadav during his time as Rail Minister had mooted an idea of flares igniting to show signal during winter but nobody took him seriously. more

No one seems to understand that this season is typically prone to FOG.... This happens every year and has been happening every year for several decades, at least as long as I can remember, even in 1955. During this time of the year, Trains have usually been delayed, and many also cancelled, Flights are affected. This has nothing to do with Pollution or stubble burning. I do not know what Ms Vinita Agarwal is talking about. Is it FOG or is it POLLUTION? more
