A panel of Good specialist must be made available to General public whom they can forward reports for opinion on line. It will reduce rush in hospital and associated savings in traffic and petrol etc. more
The need for effective primary healthcare can never be understated, and it is recommended that intensive efforts be made to ensure such efficacy. The planning for such provision should also encompass the need to assess and make available, suitable specialist services at appropriate junctions in the network, without confining it only to major or general hospitals. What happens is that specialist medical personnel can perform only in big hospitals and are so inclined - in urban areas there is a tendency for patients to seek services only in hospitals for precisely the reason, that there is the possibility of securing specialist care. more
Our primary health care is missing. Therefore even for a minor ailment they have to go to a tertiary care hospital. And so the crowds more
Mr Balchandran -There is one and the only one suggestion - SPEND MONEY ON STRENGTHERING PRIMARY HEALTH CENTRES AND DISPENSARIES . DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON TERTIARY CARE HOSPITALS. Take care of Silent majority staying in villages, small towns - where the patient has to go 30 kms to find a doctor and a chemist and another 30 km to find a lab. They do not write the suggestions in local circles. the kids are dying because of ignorance and wrong advise by quacks- they are suffering from malnutriton and water borne diseases. No Water ( what to take of filtered water) . tHE EXCUES WILL BE DOCTOR DO NOT WANT TO GO. My advise - Provide the infrastrucure ( With even HALF AS EQQUIPPED ) as in urban centres and doctor will go - WHAT A DOCTOR NEEDS IN VILLAGE 1. Health centre which has laboratory,X Ray and Chemist shop or well equipped medical store and a safe house with electricity and phone ,internet and a car and an ambulance WHICH IS WORKING. Increase the imprest money to 50000 Rs / and provide a computer trained secreterial staff - which a doctor can hire ( power to be given by administration - from an outsourced agency) . Why car- Not for luxury - but for his children to commute to a good school in the nearby town ! and doctor will go. more
How do we create an interest group to improve standards of healthcare delivery? we need, i believe an agenda that contains specific suggestions. It is quite possible that the list of suggestions may be very long. That list by common consent and consultation would need to be made "practicable" and in the format of a common minimum program - classified into short(upto 6 months), medium(2-3 years) and long term action points, and these would have to be monitored by the interest group on a periodic basis. more
