Delhi Traffic Police
Is there a way that people can get together to highlight the rampant corruption in the Delhi Traffic Police. It is so evident by the way the traffic inspectors are positioning themselves away from busy intersections to catch people who may shell out compromised fines. Nobody seems to be manning areas where there are jams or people jumping red lights etc. plus violations by public transport like buses, Autos and Gramin sewa are not looked into while private vehicles are soft targets. Is it because of the hafta system ? more

We don't need a Delhi Traffic Police although I don't really know why it exists. We need to have only Delhi Police. And the DP should be responsible for Law & Order of the city as it is supposed to be. And Law & Order includes traffic order as well. So all Policemen on duty including PCRs must keep an eye on traffic violations. Even if some of the force is deputed for traffic duty specifically, their uniform must be the one and the same - khaki. more

As a matter of fact, Delhi does not have Traffic Police Force at all. It has only challan officers. These challan officer do not operate at busy traffic crossing or conjested place. They will cooly stand at a lonely road (five or six of them bunched) and challan p0epole for over speeding (Mind you there is not much traffic on these roads). At the end of the day they report at HQ with the booty collected. Poor traffic remain as it is. Traffic signal offenders (e.g bikers go scottfree) at busy crossings just are overlooked by traffic challan officers. Afterall their day quata gets full at lonely roads. Why should they take PANGA at busy places. more

The best way is to take a photograph when you feel something is amiss and put it on the Delhi police twitter account. Action would be taken. more

Rule breakers are never checked & even stopped by Delhi police , without helmet,triple rides, Red light jumping defaulters ,zic Zac drivers never challaned even standing policemen ignore them. Car drivers mostly found talking on Mobiles,Zic Zac driving,Red light jump,over speeding,emitting smoke go Scott free. Revamping & Strict training of Delhi Traffic Police is need of the hour. Found six to seven policemen standing at one place away from busy Red Lights why only one Traffic man can regulate the traffic & challan the defaulters as done by other countries policemen. more
