Lockdown, the ultimate option, happened earlier, okay, but also longer than necessary, lasting 68 days, now we must have a COVID protocol. Protocol being framework developed benefiting from the time having tried various alternatives. One being going digital, or contactless. Those getting salary at home can opt for the former, but what the society needs is a differentiated solution, keeping livelihoods intact, as we have seen the effects on earnings of only having a lockdown. After all election rallies were held in many phases this month. Ironically these elected asking of us, even in proxy, to observe lockdown. You must get elected so that you can impose decisions is the rationale apparently. more
Seemaji since you must be getting regular salary sitting at home .You want lockdown imposed but don't you think public must follow safety precautions so that earning is not hit.India is country where people are hand to mouth .Ok this time week end lock down imposed you can compare the numbers and satisfy your writings again and again It will be better if public takes up safety for themselves and family only don't educate society .If every family limits itself all will be safe for city as whole. more
Ideally we should have a lockdown. But is the the optimal solution? You have to correct and learn from past actions. What was achieved by last year's 68 day long lockdown? Obviously, from the exhortations above, some have the option of working, studying, earning and continuing our lives from home, which many stakeholders, earning daily wages, may not. Delhi too among the world's worst, a comparison being made for perspective on another parameter, pollution. No government, including the previous one that ruled 15 years, did anything transformational, about that. People were quite content running their big cars or massive generators that burnt subsidised diesel, causing pollution. Yet, today, we could choose our issues to question government. Kejriwal's decision one can say caused CISCE board exams stand cancelled. more
What can any Government or authority do..the common people in society are not willing to comply and ignoring the warnings to protect oneself and others. People are freely roaming around without wearing face masks or following Social Distancing protocols. Rather than imposing fine , they should be shamed in public view and their videos posted openly on Social media so that they don't have the courage to flaunt the guidelines again. Because of few ignorant citizens, why should the public in general should suffer the brunt if a lockdown. It is for responsible citizens like all of us to really encourage the youth and all the people to follow COVID protocols so that we can eliminate this Corona. more
To put in perspective, Delhi recorded 400+ cases exactly a month ago 4200%+ jump in a month more
