Clean Drinking Water: Issues
Citizen concerns on the subject of clean drinking water and lack of adherence to standards are being raised lately in different circles and has been brought to our attention. With this post, we would like to seek your inputs on the various issues you observe in regards to drinking water in your area. The various parameters to test water quality include color, odour, pH, total dissolved solids, hardness, alkalinity, elemental compounds such as iron, manganese, sulphate, nitrate, chloride, fluoride, arsenic, chromium, copper, cyanide, lead, mercury, zinc and coliform bacteria. Also, if you have any information or can find any information from your jal board or municipality about there adherence to these standards, please share. The objective is to first understand the status quo and then brainstorm solutions to improve quality of drinking water. We will also coordinate efforts on this with Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation. We look forward to your inputs! Swachh Bharat Mission
