Demat deadline extended till April 19

Thank you Sudesh Rai ji for sharing that Govt has extended deadline to convert paper shares to electronic to April 19.

I had raised this issue in the localcircles and truly now a fan of the impact of these circles.

For some of us who have inherited these or have parents in possession of these its real pain. Companies have very bad attitude towarda individual shareholder.

I urge localcircles to take this up with SEBI and make companies reaponsible for converting their shares instead or face penalty. The make us run from pillar to post. When there isant a will, people have to go to district court to prove they are the ones inheriting. So much inefficency corruption there.

Once again, big thanks and one ask. Will really help many. more

I too agree with Mr RP Gupta; that the Demat form will be required only for selling. However since we do not know when we will be forced to sell, it is advisable to Demat the certificates. As pointed out by Ms Aditi, in some cases it takes quite some time to do this exercise. more
All these changes are creating inconvenience to small investers and benefits are passed on to the demat companies. more
I think this extension of date is specially to sale the shares without d-mate. To do d-mate will be allowed even after the date. more
Demat shall be subjected to all Property transactions including Registrations mandating rigorous punishments on whoever delays. more
I fully agree with Ms. Aditi Jain & others that Co.'s shld take the responsibility to convert the shares from physical form to electronic paper. Request Sebi's intervention. more
