Demonetisation of 500 and 1000 currency notes

Railways is seeing unusually high footfall at the reservation counters after the demonetisation of 500 and 1000 currency notes.

All passengers purchasing tickets worth above Rs. 50,000 must now furnish PAN cards.

Authorised caterers of the Indian Railways have been instructed to accept Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 notes from passengers at railway stations and on trains.

To minimize inconvenience to passengers, instructions have been given to all general managers that tickets should be given by accepting Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 notes.

We invite you to share your on ground experiences on the same so we can improve things. more

All persons booked ticket after announcement of demonetization should be allowed to get refund after getting clearance from Incometax /E.D Deptt. So all such booking cases must be referred to Income Tax Deptt/E.D.Most Indians are unable to check their dishonest intention. AADHAR CARD,PAN CARD PHOTO COPIES SHOULD BE INTRODUCED IN CASE OF DIRECT HIGH MONEY TRANSACTIONS. more
I THINK DETECTORS SHOULD BE INTRODUCED WHICH CAN CATCH THE FAKE NOTES. DOING THIS BLACK MONEY CAN BE CAUGHT. I THINK SWIPE MACHINES CAN BE INTRODUCED SO THAT THE QUESTION OF CHANGE DOESNT OCCUR. NOW A DAYS EVERY COMMON MAN HAS BANK ACCOUNT & ATM AS NORMAL.SO THERE MAY BE CLEAR TRANSACTION AVOIDING BLACK MONEY. more
There is inconvenience for people. But people are ready to face this temporary inconvenience because they know this is good measure to stop terror funding by counterfeit money. And if this can tackle the black money problem at least to a great extent that will be great for the nation. There is also need to ensure that monies deposited are own money. For this the depositor should be asked to indicate the source of money. more
