Dept. of Consumer Affairs (Government of India) (

There are good recommendations but not covering or explaining all fields of Consuers problems, woes and troubles they have to face.
Admissibility is reduced from 30 days to 21 days which is tolerable .
BUT the most important part which is missed out in fact not even mentioned is the Disposal of the case, the time frame in which the case HAS to be decided, earlier it was 90 days now dates are given beyond 180 days.
Different excuses are used and if the respondent does not come the complainant has to wait and later a date given,a simple law should be done that a fine of Rs.10000/- will be made for absence or not complaining with the date and documents requires. You will see there will be very few absentees and case deciding will be much faster.
Lastly even after the negative order of the Nationl Commisssion ,in the Supreme Court admission there should be a separate bench to hear Consumer grievances and also the need of hiring a lawyer should be scrapped and the consumer be allowed to fight his own case and the Judge should consider this as a good improvement because no other be it a lawyer etc. can understand, feel the pain the consumer has gone through and going through.
He has run from District forum to state commission to National Commission and because he did not get justice he is forced to approach the Supreme Court but he becomes helpless because the lawyers fees may be higher than the complainants demand ,so the companies go scot free since they have legal departments and lawyers on permanent pay roll.
Also they should initiate some law o fight cases on e mails online with the judiciary departments and give judgements on the paperwork which is still the criteria in courts.

BUT these hints may not be applicable as t will affect the corrupted judges some of them and the time frame saving. more

Consumers problems should be handled with all priorities. more
The issue of consumers shall not be ignored like the issues of public . All Bodies to abide by public interest. more
I fully agree with Mr Rakesh Kwatra. The complaint should be given the first preference to put forward his case and if the case is concluded in the lower court and the complainant is not satisfied and wants to go to the higher court the higher courts must have a fast track channel to settle the issue. Thanks more
Both manufacturer and seller are powerful lobby whereas complainant is ordinary citizen.Govt has to consider this aspect. more
Request for adjournments must be penalised by imposing a penalty of Rs 150/- (payable to the other party who is present in court) to cover the cost of transport etc. for the day. This should not be discretionary on the part of the Bench. In all cases of request for adjournment, the penalty must be imposed. This will reduce the time period of cases by at least 3 months. more
Consumer cases are typical, one makes, one sells and another use & complains to courts. more
