Design changes needed in Trains/Stations

1. Taps with sensors should be installed in trains to reduce water wastage
2. Leakage free flushes should be designed for train toilets
3. If possible, waterless urinals should be installed on stations and inside trains
4. Waiting rooms should be redesigned with clean washrooms
5. Taps on platforms should be redesigned so they do not leak which is currently very common
6. Redesign and reconfigure things so there are separate toilets for men and women
7. Exhaust fans should be installed in toilets
8. Redesign glass windows so they get properly shut
9. More charging points should be installed in Shatabdi and Rajdhani
10. The chain pulling system should be replaced with an emergency alarm system
11. All the lights should be replaced by LEDs to minimize the power consumption
12. The roof of the coach could be of fiberglass with opening hatches - for cool ventilation in hot summer
13. Double decker trains have a cramped leg room. Some seats should be removed so that the leg space could be improved

15. Height of the platforms and train entrance should be made equal
16. All platforms should have full length weather sheds
17. Platforms should be made wheel chair friendly
18. The entry doors at the compartments should be widened like in metro trains
19. Automatic door closing system should be installed. The train should move only after the doors have closed
20. To open bogie door one needs real physical strength and some skill. Make it smoother
21. Make bogie joints smoother so passengers experience less jerks when train stops or starts
22. Solar panels should be set on top of the coaches to extract energy for the utilization

1st and fore most thing is remove all outside vendors from station. Let Rly take up the vending. Lot of new vending systems are coming up. Because of this vendors lot of mishappening are going on. corruption on food quality. water what not every thing. 2 nd take up supply of food in to coaches only by rly authorities. 3 allotment of berths should not be done at the time of booking it should be on the day of the journey at at least 6 hours before travel. The allot of berth should be based on the age factor only only only not on the 1st come 1st serve basis. The it facilitates all the elder above 50 and all youngers also to travel comfortably. 4 remove agents in irctc. agent are required only for the things which do not have demand. 5 cleaning of toilets and removal of garbage from the toilets at least for every 4 hours to 6 hours in the long journey trains. 6. the design of coaches also to be changed. the tkts less/ reservation less entrents should be caught immediately with an alaram. Here comes the question of waitlist/rac tkt holders. For them allot one particular coach and all are supposed to enter into that coach only and from time to time any vacancy is there it will be displayed in the board in that coach and allot met should be done automatically without intervension of TTE for the time being this is enough more
If possible the IR should standardise on the allowable decibel sound levels in coaches particularly AC coaches.Have observed due to incomplete closing of doors & poor sealing of vestibules cusses this. This may be studied & actions taken. more
Railways must start PRE FABRICATED structure culture,as this will save time & have uniformity of structures in turn that will save money as it will be mass produced. This can be sub contracted if required. more
1. Collection of waste plastic bottles, food containers etc by IRCTC must be made mandatory, most of the time these items will be thrown out side/near toilets by passengers. This will helt not only keep the railway line/bogie clean, it can also be used for recycling. 2. Seating arrangement on the platform must be increased, as mot of the people sit/sleep on the platform. 3. Redesigning of chairs in the waiting rooms, so that passengers can relax during the waiting. 4. Light music/classical music/ music for meditation must be played in the waiting halls, to get relaxation. 5. All the trains status display must be provided in all the waiting halls. 6. Train arrival Platform information to be provided to the passengers at least 15-20 minutes before the arrival of train so that, passengers can take their position. more
Automatic doors like in metro trains must be provided in Indian Railways also and the next station to be displayed in the compartments. I have noticed that delicate material used in the toilets of the new double decker train from Lucknow to Anandvihar. More double deckers to be provided in all the sectors throughout India. The gap between Platform and the train to be less than 2 to 3" to avoid accidents. more
