Designing dustbins in railway coaches
I have the following suggestions to share regarding the design of new dustbins to railways.
1. Provide passengers with empty paper bags to collect all the trash in those bags and penalise for throwing the trash inside the compartments.
2. Design dustbins in each bay/ compartment so that people can simply dispose off the trash conveniently from their seats/ locations. The designers can consider providing trash collection points alongside the windows, which gets sucked into a large container beneath the coach (something similar to vaccumm operated toilets in airlines or in the toilets of new coaches which do not drop the discharge on to tracks ). This suggestion is based on the observations made during travel, as most passengers are lazy and try to dispose off the trash by throwing it out of the window or just dropping it below the seat. more

Ajay Kumar TC/TTE should not ask for bribe if the person having general ticket is sitting in reservation coach, he should give a proper receipt of penalty, and he has to give his phone no. & office address, name etc. to the passenger in a designed format. more

dustbins should be designed in each coupe where, a group of 6 / 4 or 8 as per size, can use it and give to person when he comes to clean, but those bins should be with plastic bag, where a bag is picked up and changed. but only 1 thing it should not be used for cigratte stubs and spitoons. more
