Details in a business plan
Can anyone give me any idea what to include in a business plan or what details does a BP consists. I know the basics such marketing, feasibility reports, financial plan, operational plan and what else? for any budding amateur Entrepreneur what else can be added in a BP?

In addition to points mentioned by worthy members 1. USP (Unique Selling Proposition)of the product(s) and services. 2. Break Even Point Period (not more than 3 years) and profitability afterwards. 3. Return on investment, Returns on sales, maximum Debt-Equity ratio. 4. Latest/optimal technology. more

Soumitra, you could start by preparing an executive summary of what you have on hand. Basically it is like this, put your self in the VC 's shoes and try to ask yourself what would they require to invest in your company. When you prepare your financials , make it a point to show when your will be generating cash inflows. Investors would like to see this information more than anything else. Also, it is not enough if you are honest, you should be very transparent too. All the best. more

Dear Soumitra Sahai, Happy to hear that you are coming up with your business plan. Success of any business depends upon ones competency and knowledge on the proposed buiness and the business model that s/he is putting forward. As far as the investors are concerned expected return will be their concern. The project should start earning return latest by three years that of course depends upon the scale of yor project. Please note that BP are developed around some market study which depicts the demand and supply of the product/service. As such a business can be failed if the study report is flawed. To ensure sucess question every figure on which you develop your BP. more
