Did Delhi have worst covid impact because of pollution

Long-term exposure to particulate matter (PM) 2.5 -- a mixture of solid particles and liquid droplets found in the air -- doubles the risk of losing smell, a hallmark of COVID-19, according to the latest attached global study.

The loss of smell, a condition known as anosmia, can severely impact a person's quality of life, making it extremely difficult to taste foods, detect airborne hazards in the environment, and carry out other functions dependent on the senses. more

Time and again Paediatricians and the Pulmanologists kept saying that the pollution will lead to a lot of Lung problems that will pave the way for other illness like kidney failure and so on. No doubt there is a correlation to caes shooting up due to constant Pollution that makes poeple easy target to get infected with COVID19; as the virus makes its way through the nostrils and into the respiratory system. The Lungs are already vulnerable to the Virus & weak and not able to with stand once the virus goes down to the Bronchii & Alveolii among those who are exposed to the pollution. more
For the sake of those in power , Diplomats, VIPs if not for crores of ordinary residents , a workable solution for this deadly Air Pollution Has to be worked out by the Governments. Otherwise we shall continue to suffer and die a miserable death gasping for Oxygen. The residents also need to participate by minimising use of vehicles among other things. more
In starting Feb Mar pollution was in discussion but later wave 2 impact was so much that every one was saving from this virus and lost near and dear ones due to Hospitals, blackmarketing of medicines and now it is vaccination .Pollution has not been the concerned ,in between due to rains sky was clear. more
