Diesel Price
Just after the result were out, Diesel price increases by 1 rupee and now another 50 paisa increased. This is not why we have voted for BJP . its a request to reduce the price of diesel as soon as possible and soon doesn't means in a few month. more

Congress made a mockery of governance of India by giving subsidies & license Raj. License Raj gave powers to the ministers and bureaucrats who made money. Government was supposed to serve the country men BUT they made the citizens serve them. Nothing comes free and if it comes free; comes at a high cost. The high cost is deterioration of the infrastructure, poor security, inflation, etc. which we all have been suffering. Subsidies can only be given when other products are highly charged. Kerosene, Diesel and LPG gas are subsidised. There was no need to give subsidy. Employers would have given higher wages to the workers. The congress government played a game for getting votes; game of appeasement by subsidies, allotment of land, etc. Subsidies create a artificial pricing structure and goes beyond control in CERTAIN TIME FRAME. In good governance there is transparency and no artificial control on pricing of daily requirements. Diesel and Petrol pricing are programmed to come actual cost price with private players competing in the open market. South Korea and some of our neighbours were in bad shape after WWII 1947. But they adopted free economy and any one can advance based on merits. SAMSUNG, LG, HYUNDAI, etc. are giants employing millions with R&D in every field. Incapable leaders of congress starting from RSVP and their team are spending their left over energy in criticising the steps being taken by the present government. RSVP has no education to understand the situation today is their creation. If today you are having BP, sugar and unhealthy body is because of the past inputs to your body. You got to pay the bills for getting the health parameters on the track. Hence prices are going to increase first, savings shall reduce secondly, profits shall reduce, salaries shall increase; this cycle shall find its level as per strategy of market development growth. Patience for a better future for the next generation with suffering of the present generation shall result into a healthy body and happiness levels increase. more

We were believing that congress is making fool of everybody as far as petrol/diesel prices are concerned.Till today I am not convinced that why these products should be taxed so heavily.Now there is lot of income from service Tax, so taxes on petroleum products can definitely be reduced. PSU officials and petro lobby is misguiding the nation. more

The previous UPA government has taken a policy decision to bring the diesel prices at par with petrol prices. So the price rise is due to UPA government decision. The government shall start bringing down the prices of petrol since diesel prices are being allowed to increase. This will help lakhs of two wheeler users more

I quite agree with the fact that taxes should be reduced. However another way of looking at it is that reducing taxes means less revenue and reducing subsidies means less expenses. So where do we go from there speciaqlly considering that there is inelasticity in demand vis a viss price of diesel upto a very high level of prices. Maybe reducing taxes in other areas may increase revenue but for diesel I am not sure more

JAGMOHAN MARWAH (MAJOR (Retd); chartered civil engineer): i also agrees with u that subsidies should be reduced .....but do u know that petroleum products are heavily taxed. if tax will reduce automatically the price will go down without increase of any subsidy. And why tax should be reduced because it(petroleum Product)is one of the essentially commodity which everybody uses either directly or indirectly more
