Digital India has issues

Sony Liv takes 90 days to cancel a subscription. Even monthly subscription.

HDFC doesn’t let you cancel auto-pay online seamlessly. So you have to go to the branch and fill a form to cancel the auto-pay.

We are in 2023. But Digital India is in 1983.

Everyone please share your experiences so we can get these companies to fix such issues more

better close account with the bank,, that is only the remedy more
Yes it is true. The digital convenience is only for the Government or establishments. The Customer is a FOOL in all these Digital Drama. My experiences are many> 1. I opted , sorry one agent has started an SIP of Rs.20000 per month of ICICI Mutual fund. When I want to cancel this after 14, 15 months, this I cannot do. I had to go to CAMS and give an application and pretend suddenly becoming poor. 2. I gave a mandate of donation of a monthly value to some one. Later I want to cancel this after two years. But the SBI Cards did not do any thing. When I contacted them through Customer Care, SBI Cards says that You have to approach the Agency for whom I gave mandate of monthly contributions. They cannot neither me nor SBI Cards can cancel it. Great. Then I REPORTED LOSS OF CARD AND GOT A NEW CARD. Here also SBI Cards offered me to replace the card with the same Card Number. I refused to accept and insist for altogether new one. There are many instances and the Empowerment of Customer is a MUST now. more

HDFC Bank online account doesn't operate most of the days! more
I am totally against givving LETGO to banks for auto paying our bills. The banks as it is send reminders and we can ask them to pay when we need to and at our wish. Any bank not responding to cancel auto pay, ask them to close your account and they will be at your feet. more
I fully agree with Mr. Bhasin and we should not give any liberty to bank to pay bills or subscriptions without a clear consent from us. I had subscribed through my debit card to availed “True caller” application for a year. For the following year I did not apply to renew my subscription, but the subscription amount for a year was deducted directly from my saving account without my approval. When I approach the bank to know how one could deduct money from my account without my knowledge and a alert from the bank, the PSU bank had no clear cut answer and advised to complain to the “True Caller”. more
I could cancel a subscription (repeat payment) transaction by simple OTP on a HDFC Bank credit card. Looks like someone from bank misguided you. Try talking to supervisor in phone banking. more
