DIGNITY AND RESPECT OF WOMAN MUST BE RESTORE AND SOONER THE BETER.

Since inception, women had been getting raw deal in the hands of men, society at large and to a great extent older women because woman remained confined to four walls of the house and the DIKTATS used to be clear.....stay confined to house, cook food, rear children and take care of the family and because of this handicap, women suffered because they dared not and if some one did....the result were horrible.

As the times moved on, women ventured out/were allowed to venture out for education, jobs and other journeys. though the opposition was stiff but things started looking up.....in 80s industrial revolution proved boon for educated women as they lumped prestigious job openings and also went active in Govt sponsored jobs, politics and social sector. The financial security they experienced and benefit of the same started nurturing the families, more and more women jumped the ques and joined the main stream. Today they are excepted as equal partners but there are millions of women still deprived of that LIGHT in the tunnel......but with woman favoring policies and laws by the govt and more openness in the society towards accepting woman as equal partner in power and society things can only look up and day is not far off when crime against women will come down drastically and their dignity respected. I am sanguine that day is not very far. Meanwhile let us support them, motivate them and let them come up as they are the creators and nurturers....no nation can ever progress without giving respect to women. more

Sai Ram, water harvesting projects are good idea and a lot of designs and details are available to install water harvesting projects in cities like Bangalore. It is estimated that if all the apartment complexes, offices, factories, corporate offices etc install water harvesting systems in this city, there will be no need to get water from Cauvery river and it will save a lot of energy in the process. The ground water level also will go up through recharging. Installing harvesting systems in all buildings in this city must be made mandatory and defaulters should be severely punished. Concurrently, the city corporation must increase the water charges to cover the costs and this will promote and motivate the installation of water harvesting systems. The buildings should also have a provision for recycling grey water( water from the kitchen, bath rooms- all except toilet flush water-) for use in gardening, fire fighting, recharging bore wells etc, Additionally, provision of sewage treatment plants must be made mandatory in all large apt complexes, offices, factories, etc, This city had a good system of over 400 lakes in the past and the undulating nature of the city permitted a logical flow of water from one lake to another and so on. Now most of the lakes have been encroached upon by unscruplous builders, polluted by discharge of sewage, etc. Like the Ganga cleaning project, a major thrust must be given for restroring the remaining lakes and use them as sinks for collecting rain water. With this the ground water levels will also go up. This work must be given priority, involving knowledgable experts in the field of restoration (Isarel is great source of such knowledge), Diversion of rivers has major environmental impact, particularly in the eco sensitive ghat areas etc and this impact must be studied and analysed before such river diversion projects are approved saranga pani. more
